Diploma in Yoga Teaching

The VTCT Skills (ITEC) Level 3 Diploma in Yoga Teaching is an internationally recognised vocational qualification regulated by Ofqual and awarded through ITEC — a global specialist awarding organisation operating in over 40 countries, and part of the VTCT group since 2016. The qualification is mapped to National Occupational Standards for yoga teaching and is designed to develop the knowledge, practical skills and teaching competencies required to work professionally as a yoga instructor.

This is a graded qualification — unlike most fitness qualifications, learners can achieve a Pass, Merit or Distinction — reflecting the depth of theoretical and practical knowledge required. It covers anatomy and physiology, exercise and health principles, client support, and the full cycle of programming and delivering yoga teaching sessions to the general public. Assessment includes external theory and practical examinations set and marked by VTCT Skills (ITEC), alongside a portfolio of evidence including 20 supervised case studies and 50 hours of supervised teaching practice. LIFN is the only VTCT-approved fitness education centre in Sri Lanka, delivering this programme with bilingual instruction in Sinhala and English.
