Privacy Policy

When you register for a course or workshop:

• your first name and full name (as on your NIC), NIC number, date of birth and gender;
• email address, phone and WhatsApp numbers, home address and occupation;
• the course, payment plan or offer you chose, and your payment receipt (if you upload one).

When you send an enquiry: your name, phone, email, the course you're interested in and your message.

When you study with us: attendance, assessment results and the certificates we issue, including the NIC they are linked to.

• to process your registration, confirm your payment and enrol you;
• to contact you about your course, classes, payments and results;
• to register you with awarding bodies (such as VTCT, NASM or TVEC) when your course requires it;
• to issue certificates and let employers and others verify them;
• to answer your enquiries;
• to keep the records we need for accounting, accreditation and legal purposes.

We do not sell your personal information. We only share it with:

• Awarding bodies (VTCT, NASM, TVEC and similar) — the details they need to register you and issue your qualification;
• Service providers who run our website, database and file storage (such as Supabase) — they store data for us and may not use it for anything else;
• authorities, where the law requires it.

Inside LIFN, registrations and payment receipts can only be seen by staff who handle enrolment. Payment receipts are stored privately and are never public.

Our verification page lets anyone confirm a LIFN certificate with its certificate number, or list the certificates issued to a person by entering their full NIC number.

A search shows only the holder's name, the course, the issue and expiry dates and whether the certificate is valid. Your NIC itself is never displayed, and nothing is found unless the exact number is entered.

If you don't want your certificates to be found by NIC, email info@lifn.lk and we will remove the NIC link — your certificate can then still be verified by its number.

We may publish photos and videos from classes and events, and testimonials students give us, on our website and social media. You can ask us not to include you, or to remove something already published, at any time.

• Certificate records are kept permanently, so certificates can always be verified.
• Registration and payment records are kept for as long as we need them for accreditation, accounting and legal reasons.
• Enquiries that don't lead to a registration are deleted after 2 years.

You can ask us to:

• tell you what personal information we hold about you, and give you a copy;
• correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
• delete information we no longer need — except records we must keep, such as issued certificates;
• stop using your photo or testimonial, or stop contacting you about offers.

Email info@lifn.lk. We may ask you to confirm your identity before acting on a request.

Registrations, receipts and certificate records are stored in access-controlled systems. Only authorised staff can see them, each with their own login and only the access their role needs.

This website doesn't use advertising cookies. It sets one cookie of its own, holding a random number, so we can count visits and see which pages and links help people find the right course. It doesn't contain your name or contact details and isn't shared with anyone. If you send us an enquiry or registration, it's linked to it so we know how you found us.

Otherwise the site only stores what it needs to work — for example remembering that you closed the offer bar, and keeping staff signed in to the admin area.

The map on our contact page is provided by Google Maps, and WhatsApp links open WhatsApp — those services have their own privacy policies.
